Chinese Government Condemns US of ‘Hypocritical Policies’ Concerning Trade Levy Warning

Donald Trump’s most recent ultimatum to introduce an additional 100% tariff on products from China has been described as a “classic case” of American hypocrisy, as stated by the China’s leadership.

A official from China’s Commerce Ministry further commented that China could enact its own undisclosed “countermeasures” if the American leader follows through on his pledge, noting that the country was “fearless” of a possible trade conflict.

Last Friday, Donald Trump responded at Beijing’s move to reinforce its rules for foreign shipments of critical elements, alleging the Chinese leadership of “turning aggressive” and attempting to hold the world “under its control”.

He also vowed to cancel a arranged meeting with Beijing’s head of state Xi Jinping, which was set for a meeting in Seoul later this month.
