Emails Uncover the late financier and former Trump strategist Ties

In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK to deliver a address at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The event was disrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists delayed speech don't think I can catch the plane we r enroute to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "There. Is a gulf air departing at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an amazing assistant".

These exchanges were released on this week alongside more than 20,000 documents from the records of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee contains an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is withheld. The BBC has been able to establish his involvement by matching the timeline, occurrences, and locations referenced.

For instance, Epstein discusses arranging a jet from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the messages, and commends their "address at Oxford". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and delivered the speech at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any misconduct, declined to comment on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of Trump's key advisers in the run up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but stepped down from the administration in 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a film about Epstein prior to his passing and allegedly has around 15 hours of footage. In a recording of his podcast earlier this year, he said: "We're going to publish the film, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the newly released materials indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the convicted paedophile at times appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A short time prior to the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the most highly paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "You are pretty good assistant", to which Epstein replied "Massages. Excluded".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you are well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Messages

The published messages also show Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in that year.

On the same day his address at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit issue this morning with Farage, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to the UK prime minister, the struggling UK prime minister at the period, he continued: "They are trying to proceed. May today / tomorrow…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "In my view remaining as much as you can uk. Ideal- so people see the dedication of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa May survive". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely BUT the guys over here have little courage" and noted "Johnson ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to step up".

Theresa May was eventually toppled in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in December 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK told media: "Farage has never been in a gathering with Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest such a meeting took place.

The US House of Representatives will vote soon on whether the justice department should make public all its files related to its investigation into Epstein, who died in jail in that year.

Attention in Epstein's relationships with influential individuals was reignited recently after the publication of more than 20,000 documents from his archives.

Some of those referenced the former president, who has consistently denied any impropriety. The president was a acquaintance of Epstein's for years, but claims they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was initially charged.
