Emma Raducanu ends this year's campaign and plans to retain trainer into the 2026 season.

Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slams this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in the last two tournaments in 2025 as a result of a medical condition she has been fighting for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was due to play in events in Asia but opted to return home to recover ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

Those preparations will include coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering in 2026.

She required blood pressure checks in her opening round with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

Her movement was far from freely in the final set in the match with Zhu due to a lower back issue that has been a concern during parts of the season.

These outcomes signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches this year and advanced to the semis in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

The British number one made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed on the way prior to a loss in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
