Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

My son told me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have got lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
