Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.

Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is unclear and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted missile fragments fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
