Jurgen Klopp states coming back to lead Liverpool is plausible in theory.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Liverpool in 2024, remarked that rejoining the club remains a possibility. Klopp, following a hugely successful nine-season tenure which brought continental glory and the Premier League crown for three decades, currently occupies roles in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won England's top flight in the previous campaign, yet numerous supporters who revere Klopp would welcome the notion that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he explained to his interviewer: “I declared I won't manage any other side on English soil. Which implies in case it's my former club...yes. In theory, it could happen.”

“Being 58, which suggests the choice could be mine later on, who knows. Must I choose now? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, I don’t have to do that. I can just see what the future brings.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on which situations would need to occur to bring him back to the dugout, he revealed he isn't eager for a comeback. “I'm not entirely sure, I love what I do right now,” he said. “I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing in the rain through long matches; I'm glad to skip press conferences four times, three times a week or doing numerous chats each week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room as a dressing room, but sitting in a restaurant with the team having a nice chat, is pleasant. We won a lot of games meaning regularly a very good mood at the club. I still have Van Dijk's laughter in my ear as an instance.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly regarding Arne Slot, acknowledging his role for the adjustments which secured the championship in the previous season. They've been defeated four consecutive matches in every contest post heavy investment, but he rubbished the idea of it representing the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward such as Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if spoken against. He’s an incredible talent. [Hugo] Ekitike, superb talent. They have a strong well-judged squad. You don’t have to worry about Liverpool, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling about the death of the Portuguese star, a player he signed in 2020, and the effect for the team. Jota died tragically in a car crash together with his sibling recently.

“How do you replace a person like him? It goes beyond his footballing ability, his personality mattered. It's hard to picture the team environment missing him. I find it difficult to discuss on this topic. A profound tragedy for all the boys too. Not a single person might employ it to justify results though it's a fact. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Coping with it individually is not easy. Unbearable.”
