Golden sun, savory pies and iconic stadiums - what else would an Three Lions follower desire?

Ideally, they'd want an Ashes series in Australia where they retain a possibility to secure the famous trophy after the first three Tests.

That will not be happening during this tour, after a comprehensive triumph in Adelaide put the hosts leading three-nil for the fourth consecutive series on Australian grounds.

The loyal traveling fans, the vocal contingent, have thousands of supporters making the journey for the concluding fixtures in Sydney and Melbourne.

There are also tour groups who will celebrate the holidays overseas, as well as loved ones planning a dream holiday.

Fans with Booked Tickets

Four fans named Alex, Sam, Rory and Katie are a prime example.

The group had their travel arrangements and match passes booked for the Boxing Day and New Year Tests "well ahead of time", dreaming of a historic English victory.

Sadly, they've observed Australia outplay the visitors in just a short period from their house in their hometown.

"Everyone at work has been making comments that the series is done for the last two weeks," commented one sibling.

"The hope was that we would have the series on the line upon our arrival."

Diminishing Hope

Optimism was high about England's chances of ending their 15-year wait for a victory down under before it began.

However, the situation is now facing the prospect of extending their winless run in the country to 19 matches when the Boxing Day Test begins in Melbourne this week.

The tourists - and their fans - will be hoping to sidestep a dreaded 5-0 scoreline.

Alex said the "excitement and fun" of head coach Brendon McCullum's 'Bazball' in recent years had "reinvigorated" the five-day game for England fans.

However, the group said they had realistic outlooks for the final two games - and all they are asking for from the players is "a show of spirit".

"All analysts alludes to it, but it all is about psychological strength. 'Bazball' has been elevated to a term now that is just, like, unrealistic play," stated Rory Ryding.

"In a five-day Test match, you should hunker down. Chasing balls 'sixth stump' areas has never featured in the coaching manuals, and that is largely because of the top order."

The Remaining Matches

When questioned if he believed England will triumph in a Test in the current series, one fan responded: "It looks like the Australians are superior currently."

"Necessarily, there must be multiple performers that delivers for the team and produces a match-winning display."

Regardless of the result, the siblings are still excited about the trip.

"We will have a great time nonetheless," commented Katie Ryding. "We have to go with that outlook."

"Obviously it is unfortunate we aren't fighting for more, but we have made a substantial financial commitment as it is."

"We will make the most of spending the festive season overseas. This will be mine and Rory's first time abroad at this time of year."

An educator, Katie is intent on maximizing the 21,000-mile round-trip as part of her time off.

"As a backup plan, I've got golf to turn to," Katie concluded.
