19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid season, winning just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term coach Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial title after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface from spring of 2023.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a trophy is really nice," said ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.
His counter-punching approach and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led some to question if his ability to perform at the top level was over.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an improved serve.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first professional title, gained dominance to force a final set.
The opponent defended 4 early-game opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
