Loyal supporters of the pop star are demanding that a person who leaped a barrier and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or removed from Singapore.

A widely shared clip reveals the Australian man bypassing photographers and lunging at Grande while the performers proceeded down a yellow carpet flanked by fans.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the gathering by guards.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being arrested", though official papers indicated that he was due to appear on the next day. It is unknown if he was charged.

History of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a performance. His Instagram account contains videos of him disturbing other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney performance in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last year.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Followers Voice Worry Over the Star's Well-being

Several supporters criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her May 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said a further response on Instagram.

A number of fans also criticised event staff at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while others demanded online networks to block Mr Wen's uploads.

Response and Event Details

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande looked surprised when she was grabbed by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Many of supporters had congregated in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore mall, including some who had waited for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the second of a dual interpretation of the popular stage show Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected relationship between two distinct characters.

The show itself is a spin-off of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sparkling outfit at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of the previous year in the UK, and received a dozen Oscar nominations, winning a pair for outstanding attire and set decoration.
